New samples and swatches are constantly created at the House of Zari. A total of 6 collections are made every year. The Creative Director personally overlooks, and designs these samples. The process starts with intensive brainstorming sessions, over the kind of fabric, materials, and techniques to be used. The blueprint of the design is then traced onto a tracing paper. The artist then develops these artwork or khakhas, for the designs to be issued for embroidery development.
Artwork Creation involves Khaka making or tracing the artwork over the Khat or Embroidery frames. It is done by manually perforating or punching the artwork. This allows easy access and visibility for the embroiderer to trace it over the fabric. The artist holds key knowledge of creating various forms and designs. He creates the balance and symmetry in a swatch.
Once the design is punched on the paper, it is superimposed onto the fabric using a special soluble solution. This solution seeps through the perforation, thereby creating an outline for the embroidery. With the frames held firm, holding the two edges of the fabric, the process of embroidery development begins. The sample swatch is developed keeping in mind the technique, materials and colour scheme. Constant supervision is conducted at every stage, and any deviation from the sample is immediately rectified.

We offer a range of services customized to a designer's needs. Right from conceptualising designs ideas, sourcing, sampling, creation, prototype making and manufacturing.We create luxury through our work. Our forte is to develop Couture/Evening gowns and bridal wear. Not only do we create custom evening outfits but also production pieces. Apart from embellishments we provide pattern making,artwork creation and stitching services with proper seam finishings.
We Teach Concepts
We are an Embroidery School in based in Mumbai, that is part of the embroidery company Zari Embroideries. We run embroidery workshops in several colleges and conduct workshops in our studio.
Having worked with various couture houses and luxury buyers, We started our journey to impart knowledge in this field. On completion of our course, One gains knowledge in converting their concepts to reality. They will be able to guide their artisans better and explore this art further.
Embroidery Sampling
Creativity begins by first understanding the needs of the market and the desire to bring an idea in the form of a physical sample. It is the art of combining Colour, Concept, Technique and Material. With inspirations provided by our designers, We can develop samples that further build the theme of the collection.
Prototype Development
The prototype represents the first form of concept or swatch put on a garment. Our studio prepares Runway Pieces, Couture Gowns, Look book Styles, Pre Production Samples based on designer approvals. We provide our services and inputs right from Pattern Making- Artwork Creation - Toile Development - Fitting - Stitching - Final Packing.
Manufacturing
Based on The specifications and requirements of the client, Our team prepares the production process to meet target deadlines and prices. We can produce designs that are either provided by the client or have been pre developed by our studio. For volumes above 500 pieces, We liaison our work to our associated manufacturers that are compliant and ethically sound. The quality control and final packing is conducted in house.
Garment Construction
Based on the specifications received by a designer, we also provide construction or sewing services. This includes - Pattern making, Developing Technical Packs, Fabric cutting, Sewing and outsourcing voluminous production orders. We act as a compliant manufacturer to produce high sewn ensembles.
